Lauren Jones, an employee of Dari Mart and student of Linn Benton Community College, shows her favorite task of the night, testing the Icee machine. By running it for a minute or two, she can depict whether or not it needs to be refilled or checked. She is studying sociology at Linn Benton and says she enjoys all of her classes and teachers, and she puts much of her time into studying. Although a part time employee, she makes the most out of her shifts and socializes with coworkers and customers. Her boyfriend (name unknown) is also a student at LBCC and is double rolled in OSU as well. She works towards a future with him and with a career in sociology.

Around Town: Duck Pond

Image
Thursday, October 15, 2020, the birds are out and playing. This goose has many ducks following it around as it swims and walks around. Jonathon Landers is fishing on this cloudy Sunday afternoon, October 18, 2020. A fellow student of Linn Benton Community College, he is using his weekend off of school to enjoy nature and do some fishing. The duck pond seems like a good place to start the week. October 15, 2020, the ducks are enjoying each other's company. The swim in close groups, creating ripples in the water.

The college life is interesting so far, I didn't think I would have so much work to do right off the bat. It's different than high school, but a good different. Due to the virus, all of my classes are online, which I don't mind as much as not being able to make friends. I think online is actually better than in person. However, I like interacting with people.  How is my Family Dealing with Quarantine? My family is handling the situation well. My dad is a nurse and takes care of covid-19 patients, so we have to be very cautious about social distancing and staying in-doors. Luckily no one in my family has been infected.  What is my major? Do I Like LBCC? I don't have an official major yet, but I am looking in to journalism. I like writing, I like politics, I like gathering information, and I want to travel the world. I have been at LBCC for almost a week. I like it so far; th
